The Geneva-based UN Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body responsible for promoting and protecting human rights around the world.
It has 47 members, about a third of which are replaced every year so that the council members serve staggered three-year terms for the sake of continuity.
The members of the council are not eligible for immediate re-election after two consecutive terms.
Seats of the UN Human Rights Council are allocated on a regional group basis: 13 each for Africa and the Asia-Pacific; 8 for Latin America and the Caribbean; 7 for Western Europe and other states; 6 for Eastern Europe.

二 | 8月19日，由福建省科学技术厅主办的第十五届中国创新创业大赛（福建赛区）暨第十四届福建创新创业大赛决赛在福州建行大厦顺利落下帷幕。 本届大赛得到省内科创企业积极响应，全省共有635家企业报名参与，481家企业突围晋级各级赛事。历经设区市选拔赛、省级半决赛、总决赛多轮激烈比拼，福建国光新业科技股份有限公司、福建省闽飞纳芯半导体技术有限公司分别摘得成长组、初创组一等奖。赛事同步评出二等奖4项、三等奖6项，优胜企业19家、优秀企业49家，累计80家优质科创企业崭露头角，共享总额近200万元赛事专项奖金。 福建省科技厅二级巡视员陈建林、中国建设银行福建省分行党委委员、副行长杜忠勇出席颁奖仪式，并为一等奖获奖企业代表颁奖。陈建林在致辞中指出，本次大赛深入落实省委十一届十次全会工作部署，紧紧围绕创新驱动、提质增效工作主线，将培育新质生产力、构建福建特色创新体系作为核心目标，秉持政府引导、公益支持、市场赋能的办赛理念，持续贯通创新链、产业链、资金链、人才链，打造 “政产学研用金服园”八位一体资源对接平台，是福建省推动科技创新与产业创新深度融合的一次重要实践。 本次大赛路演全程依托深交所创新创业投融资服务平台开展线上直播，立体化展现福建科创企业的创新活力与发展风貌。赛事期间同步策划开展系列配套服务活动。19日下午，赛事协办单位中国建设银行福建省分行举办 “善建科技 向新而行” 专题推介分享会。兴业银行、招商银行福州分行等多家金融支持机构现场解读科创企业专属金融扶持政策，精准对接参赛企业融资需求。活动还邀请行业资深创投及金融专家，与参赛企业开展面对面座谈交流，共同研讨科创企业转型升级与创新发展的可行路径，切实为企业纾困解难、赋能发展，有效提升参赛企业的获得感与参与体验。
